The Australian pavilion’s recruitment program is well underway
3,748 applications to work at the Australian pavilion were received by the September close date, and throughout October the first round of Australian inteviews were held in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Darwin and Canberra.
This week a total of 186 candidates, drawn from every state and territory, have taken part in the second round of interviews, which were held in Melbourne. The first round interviews in China will commence shortly.
International Venue Group, the Melbourne-based company which won the competitive tender to provide the Australian pavilion's staffing, retail and operations services, is managing the extensive recruitment drive. They will select, train and manage the 200-strong team of energetic and passionate people who, from 1 May to 31 October 2010 will be part of the biggest world expo in history.
The selection process will be finalised by the end of 2009 and an extensive training program will start in early 2010. To meet Australia's team for the Shanghai World Expo in 2010, register for the Australian pavilion e-newsletter.
