Peng Peng - The Australian Pavilion Mascot
Peng Peng, the Australian pavilion's kookaburra mascot, is a cheeky little bird, who loves having fun. He's a very early riser and always wakes up in a good mood, so good in fact that sometimes he can't help but laugh.
Peng Peng lives in a big park in the middle of the city, with his mother, father and sister. He looks forward to visiting his grandparents in the Australian bush and likes to spend his summer holidays at the beach.
He's studying Chinese at school and learning about Chinese history and culture. When he grows up, he wants to be an architect so he can design amazing buildings like the pavilions at the Shanghai World Expo. He wants his buildings to be good for the environment and good for the people who live in them.
You can meet Peng Peng every day at the Shanghai World Expo when he comes out to say hello to visitors to the Australian pavilion.
If you are in Shanghai for the World Expo in 2010 and you see Peng Peng, be sure to say "G'dday!"
